Good call. Don't need one right now but nice to see what $30 can get you. That battery is large and there are good ratings on many of those 3rd party batteries. I didn't know.
Well I read some reviews on A lot are for a nikon camera ! not sure why those reviews count for a ryobi battery. One says will not work with older chargers which is all I have.
The lithium batteries regardless of the source don't work with the older NiCad chargers. If you haven't switched to lithium you don't know what your missing. Night and day is all I can say. NiCads go dead sitting on the shelf so only the one in the charger is good to go when you need it. If you don't want to pay for a charger which you can probably find pretty cheap on buy a new tool you have been wanting that includes one and ideally a battery too. Usually a good deal. I upgraded years ago and would never go back even if the NiCad batteries were free.
^ True but if they were NiCd from a generic 3rd party there aren't the concerns about quality of protection circuit leading to fire like there could be with Li-Ion.
It would be nice to see some youtube teardowns and testing of 3rd party Li-Ion packs, and to know what cells are in them... there are still rampant cases of cells on that are wildly overrated. 5000mAh from a single 18650 cell? Yeah right.
