To second your experience, I will like to say that the customer service at stores have been so terrible this days. I am a cardholder who have been buying from since I know myself, but my recent experience have made me result to shop from online and online. store reps lie alot and refuse to help customers, they are very rude. I will not mention any particular store but I have had 2 recent experience with them in the 10468 zip area in the Bronx. When the manager refuse to accept my unopened return saying they do not carry that again and it was a less than 5 days online order( how on Earth will you stop carrying the latest 27inches iMac I bought less than 5 day.) I have decided not to use their card again or buy from them. I also support the boycott!
I agree that the reps and some best buys are hit and miss. Better to do your own research than go to them for 'advice'. With this particular deal I pulled the trigger and had it shipped to my house. It turns out that best buy lined item each product with a price ($40 for the hub, $50 for the dot). Since the $50 is regular price for a dot and I was more interested in the hub in the first place, I went to my local store to return the dot and was able to do so. I figure I can get the dot at that price any day of the week and will probably wait until there's another deal for them in particular (black friday maybe?). But $40 for the hub is a great deal...so I just purchased again (for another tv). Hopefully, I will be able to return the 2' dot like the first time.
