I have many of these throughout the house. While I don’t have this model the company makes good products. If you put the sensor in the right place they are accurate. Even though I can easily check an app, the wall mounts are like more informative clocks.

Note that it's not meant to be wall mountable but you could probably rig something up
Yeah, that’s a valid point. It seems this one might be difficult to wall mount even with modifications as it’s designed with a stand in mind. That said check the reviews as this model seems to have issues.

does this measure anything? or just gets forecasts online?
It measures temperature from the interior sensor in the device and the outside temperature from a wireless sensor. It works without the internet. So if the power to your house is out or your internet is down or your phone is in rice you can still get weather info.
