These are great for thickening soups. Just let it come to a full stop before you lift it out or you'll shoot hot soup all over the known universe.

We have the larger 5 speed bundle - and it works fantastic! Just one thing to be aware of if you will be using this in no-stick coated cookware. The 3 speed bundle does not appear to contain the little plastic guard for the end of the blender like the 5 speed one does. It can scratch up your coating if you are not real careful.
