I've been VERY unhappy with both Kiddle and First Alert. Neither brand has lasted anywhere near the 10 years a unit is supposed to last! Units are too sensitive and false-alarm. If you have several in the house, good luck figuring which one went off in the middle of the night! I don't like how much Nest units cost, but I am convinced it is the only way to go! First Alert and Kiddle need to face a class-action suit to put an end -- not just to frustration, but the risk that homes go without protection because units are down/disabled due to their false alarming!
