This one again….. please explain why a bookshelf speaker is so pricey. I do not understand. Especially since it’s 200watts peak.

40Hz-30kHz frequency range is damn impressive for a bookshelf (read -- tiny) speaker. 200 watts peak is also quite decent power for it. Of course, there is a question of how flat is the characteristic inside this range (found it: -6dB, not that bad), and how "good" does it sound in reality, but judging purely by listed parameters -- this is high quality product.

Or, alternatively, the JBL just desperately tries to get rid of its ghetto reputation ("Junk But Loud") and crawl into the higher league where there are big boys and audiophile-scale (read -- crazy) price tags.

Although I'll have yet to see an audiophile interested in bookshelf speakers.
