If it's not Zigbee or Z-Wave compatible, what's the point investing into yet another proprietary "smart things"?

As @radix33 mentioned, this is only worth getting if you're already deep into this particular ecosystem.

Although SmartThings is actually Zigbee and Z-Wave compatible, so perhaps not the best comparison.
