Not sure I'd invest in any Intel chip at this time. Ryzen is still a better bag for your buck!

A lot of our PCs at work use this cpu. Not the best at multitasking from the hiccups and using Windows’ minimum processor state to 100% doesn’t alleviate it.

For the same price range, AMD 3200G is $91 at and comes with iGPU and cooler

I've been on the blue side for a long time running I7 7700k and have no need to upgrade atm but when and if I do upgrade Ryzen looks awfully good

I3-9100= i5-7600/7600K (very similar performance)
Same core count

I3-9100 is excellent if you don't want to buy i5-9400f or higher
And you already have a good graphics card.

Otherwise Ryzen 2200/3200g/2600/3600 beats it in ( Making more sense.)
If you want to play games and Don't want to buy a gpu yet. Ryzen 200g/2200g/3200g/3400g all day.
