Looks fancy for $11 but if it only takes $11 to make/sell this, why can't they put a couple $2 relays in it and charge $15 for a similar smart thermostat instead of $50+?
great product with logging capability. there is a whole lot more complexity in turning this smart thermometer into a thermostat than a few relays and is why they are $26, not $11
^ Not so much. A few lines of code added, a couple 10 cent transistors and resistors to use logic level signals to turn the relays on, a $1 manual switch for heat vs AC might be nice too, and a $1 terminal block for screwing down the wires... so call it $18 instead of $15.
If you know of one with a similar size touchscreen and bluetooth smarts for $26, please link it?
What I've seen at $26 is just smaller non-touchscreen, non-smart, 7 day programmable types.
