No one has said it's better. Both are rated about the same.

I don't trust Li-Po cell-type jump starters.
Your best bet and most importantly, the safer bet, is to get an SLA jump-starter. Tried and tested. Heavier and bulkier, but they are much safer.

Agreed with Super_Flubber. The larger ones normally have other nice add-ons like full plug-in option and/or air pump. I have helped myself and multiple people, so they are good to have on hand.

I have a different gooloo starter and it has worked fine for 6mo or so. That being said, the gooloo approach to these is more annoying than anker’s approach. On these gooloo units you do often have to hit a tiny inset ‘boost’ but-ton to get them to provide charge to a car battery. The but-ton isn’t possible to hit by finger so you need at least a key to do it. The but-ton is also black on a black background so it’s tough to find in the dark with an object that’s not your finger.

Anker by comparison has some sort of ‘auto boost’ detection feature so you typically don’t have to hit a but-ton at all.

The only time you hit the boost button is if the pack detects that your battery is grossly underpowered (usually when a cell goes or when you are jumping with the battery disconnected). You shouldn't have to use the boost (bypass) very often.

What exactly is "less safe" about these vs SLA? The whole point is that they are more portable and convenient. SLA jump packs have been aorund forever but they're much larger and way less convenient. As an emergency jump pack these are superior because you can stuff one anywhere and have it for that one time you need it.
As for actual safety, I've had no problem leaving it in my trunk year round but we are in the northeast. Maybe in the west this is an issue, I can't comment on that. So long as you charge them on occasion, mine have lasted years in the trunk without a problem.
I used to have an SLA jump pack in the olden days but it's a waste of space and is much heavier in comparison. People laugh when you break this out to jump their SUV but after I help them they usually ask where to get one. That's the most common way I "lose" them.
This even got the blessing from Project Farm on YouTube. Not that I care because I have used Gooloo packs for years and have personal experience but that's still high praise.

I'll go ahead and say it's better. Gooloo is a reliable brand in this segment and this is basically their best jump pack. Tons of reviews on this particular unit. Rather than 4 charging status LEDs there is an LCD display with percent charge remaining, pack status, etc. This is also a larger unit than the Meterk, so it will work longer.
On top of all that, you don't have to deal with , that alone should be worth the difference.
