5G's full capability is 10 Gigabits max speed. However, it takes years to upgrade the networks so don't upgrade your phone just because of it. The initial 2-3 years 5G speed will be only slightly faster than LTE. So if your old phone is dying, buy a new one. Don't buy a new phone yet just coz you see new phones are 5G ready.

^ Or on a related note, 3G is being phased out and I do know someone who had to recently retire a 3G phone that they didn't want to part with.

You don't think google already knows all this? If it's any consolation, they consider you just a number, not a person. ;)

I'd have to agree. I got a Samsung S20 really because my old phone was dying and a great deal came from T-mobile, but as far as 5G, I get speed varying from 270m/s to 30m/sec. Completely irrelevant of location, time of day or any patterns I can discern and I live in Chicago which is supposedly fully wired. So yes, it's not there yet.

Also this is a good price, but the AC wireless on this is disappointing.
