Marketing misinformation. Except for plasma (RIP), laser and OLED. ALL TV's & monitors are Liquid Crystal Displays with LED back lighting. Before the LED lighting, they used Cold cathode fluorescent lighting.
update: There's DLP projection too, but the light source is arc, laser or LED.
It's 720p native. So irritating that they advertise it as a 1080p projector. Then again, it's only 80 bucks, so it's plenty good for the kids, backyard, etc...
Like all those cheap projectors, there is no zoom and the optics are not great, so you are very limited in terms of positioning: you only get a lousy optical keystone correction that causes part of the image to go out of focus anyway, so you really want to be able to place the projector in the center axis of the screen.
Again, 80 bucks... Still pretty sweet. And it comes with a case.

Thank you!
