The last 10 feet of my gas dryer vent is straight PVC drain pipe. Once in a while with the dryer running, I stick a thinner PVC pipe in there and an impressive amount of lint is released. Surprisingly, building codes allow for a generous 35 feet of dryer vent pipe reduced by five feet per 90 degree turn.
