THese are awesome if you have a small output from your fridge's ice maker. Ive found the ice is semi-not-frozen though. I basically dump the ice from the unit into a bag, throw it in my freezer and in an hour I have real ice. But I am picky with ice - I dont want it melting and diluting my drinks. So there you go - it's a good solution if you need more ice, assuming you know its drawbacks
