This keeps coming up, so I figured I should post my experience. The device is 4G, but the catch is that it is 4G only. It will not use 3G. 4G coverage (using Sprint which I believe this is) is really only in the heart of big cities. In my office, which is 30 minutes from downtown, there is no 4G. Just 3G. So this is useless there. Also, after the first month when you want to downgrade, it has to be done over the phone, and will take a while as they don't make it easy. Also, if you go over the 500, you will pay through the nose.
That being said, 500 MB free a month is still nice in a pinch when you are in a 4G area. I don't know that I would have spent $25 on the device if I had know it was not 3G also. But now that I have, I do find uses for the 500 MB

1 of the daily deal sites had it for $15 but no 3gb I think it was refurbished I think its wimax whuch sprint is getting rid of may next year, theres a website that tells you whats near you

I have wimax but not sprint 4g,i also have 3g but this does not fall back to 3g

would be for light use 10 gb is $18 plus $5 gb after that

most people would use 50gb so it gets expensive

would be ok checking emails and surfing internet

but not looking at videos

I have called twice.. including just now at 12 noon. Both times I was talking to a rep in about a minute. Tech support today at noon... over 20 minutes and no one picked up. But still CS was quick both times.

@yatrg... did you personally go over your 500mb and pay through the nose or is that what you read?

I was told by CS that you could set the account to turn data off when you reach 500mb and it turns back on automatically at the beginning of the next billing cycle.
If that is correct, then you only pay through the nose if you get stupid with your service.

Also you can check your data usage online at the site. Connect to the internet, do some things then check how much data you used online. Then you have a baseline on what to expect from the service.

For their free 500 MB plan, you will be charged once you used more than 400 MB. It's somewhere in their term in fine printing. So be careful.
