These are my favorite pruners. The spring is internal so it stays put (unlike pruners where the spring is between the handles and keeps falling off). I hate having to walk around my house for spur-of-the-moment pruning, so I have several pairs that I leave outside year round. I just lubricate them occasionally and they work as good as new over many years. I generally disable the mechanism that locks them closed as it tends to lock when I don't want it to.
The link to is for a different set of pruners - beware the lock spring! Pruners made of plain steel (like those on ) rust badly if left outside. Get the Fiskars!
