This is a really tempting deal but a couple things give me pause. First, the reviews on are sky-high. Turns out almost all of them are "compensated," i.e., from participants who received a free unit. Second, it doesn't look like this model is available anywhere else, so hard to get a sense of reliability. Finally, and most concerning, it looks like Farberware doesn't manufacture, but actually only licenses their name. When you head to the support page, all you get for "air fryers and toasters" is the third-party (basically no-name) email. But darn for $100 maybe it's worth a roll of the dice -- it otherwise looks like a nice machine.
Seems like now there are a handful of non-promoted reviews, one negative but otherwise mostly positive. Not surprised by the comment that the "external controls/dials get hot." Might jump in for one.
We are official owners. Prepped the unit by running it in the garage for 20 minutes on high (manual instructions). Not too much (really any) smoke or smell. Still in the trial run stage but first impressions are pretty good. Overall might not be the best option for toast (e.g., vertical height means somewhat wasted space) but looking forward to doing some fries. I'm a little disappointed that the air-fry basket sits directly on one of the racks (which means something else to clean). Oh and the adjustable drip tray (not the crumb tray at the bottom) is an odd size, like 9.5 x 11.75, so gonna probably have to cut up a larger silicone mat to fit. 😢
