Not really a good deal considering the DCK283D2 kit (2 x 2.0AH batteries, both units have belt clips, drill/driver has a metal chuck) was $176.

I would imagine that this is stronger than those that come in sets. I do not know why you would need something stronger than those. I have (stupid) people breaking screw heads and screw bits as is.
IMO, if you're not screwing 5+ inch screws, you really don't need this. And, you're better off with a combo set that also comes with 2 batteries.
