Could be handy but if you want to steam your asparagus, alternate which way half of them point instead of all the thick ends bunched together as they take a lot longer than the tips to steam as pictured.

Now I want Asparagus. I'm one of the lucky ones that can smell Asparagus Pee. Not everyone can. Look it up!

^ ?? I only notice any difference in urination smell, which hopefully isn't something you have to deal with on a date, unless this is some kind of kinky I-don't-want-to-know-about-it, fetish, which is a tangent far removed from the purpose of the product.

Will it steam things? Yes. Do you want steamed? Different tangent. I prefer roasted asparagus in a toaster oven or real oven, but it's more work...

Your food is going to be cooked by the microwave more than it’s going to be steamed with this thing.

^ Depends on how well it traps the steam in, I usually steam in a bowl or (gl***) pan with a silicone cover over it, which traps enough steam that it keeps the edges of things from getting rubbery before the middle is done, cooking longer at 50% or lower power to let time and steam do more of the heat transfer.
