^ Yeah it's a more versatile design, would be a better first adj. plier purchase for someone who frequently has adj. plier needs, though if you already have a pair of the old school design, may not be enough of a benefit to justify an upgrade unless you're doing a lot of plumbing or similar. Otherwise there's often another tool that does the job better and with less marring of the work piece.
