^ I used to think that too but it turns out that the world has so much leftover bunker fuel (oil refining waste otherwise) that shipping (vessels that use it) has become very inexpensive. The US does export pima cotton to countries that make cloth and send it back to us.

1. Pima cotton. Uh no. If from outside U.S. it is not.
