Not too bad of a price for a decent basic zoom lens. It is a step up from an non-IS version, but don't expect an L-series sharpness from it. Never had any problems with any refurbished equipment purchased directly from Canon, so this may be worth a try.
That is a great deal! I have had this lens for a year now, and is definitely a notch above the other entery level telephoto lenses that come in around this price point. It is a much larger lens, but I think the build quality and picture quality more than make up for it.
