Fun fact: The computers on the older Star Trek TV shows were voiced by Gene Roddenberry's 2nd wife, Majel Barrett. She also played a few on-screen roles, like Deanna Troi's mother.

The Star Trek TNG Bluetooth ComBadge is tempting my past geeky self. I would've been all over this if it was around back when I watched the show. Now it would be a cool novelty at first, but I'm sure I would tire of it pretty quickly. Still pretty nifty.

Fun fact: The computers on the older Star Trek TV shows were voiced by Gene Roddenberry's 2nd wife, Majel Barrett. She also played a few on-screen roles, like Deanna Troi's mother.

Majel Barrett was in the original Star Trek pilot (which was rejected by the network, leading to the 2nd pilot, and the Star Trek original series we all know), playing the role of "Number One". In the 2nd pilot, Leonard Nimoy's character, Spock, took over as 2nd in command (and Spock was almost rejected, as well), and Majel's character was nixed.

But Gene liked her acting so well, he wrote her in as Nurse Christine Chapel. Then he liked her enough, to marry her. And, as you stated, she was the voice of the ship's computer. "WORKING!"
