I'm going to plug my air conditioner into it. It turns on as soon as it receives power so I can start to cool off the house before I get home.

Lamps and some outdoor lighting. The cool thing is using Alexa to turn on the table saw when you have your hands full with a sheet of plywood.

YEs. A "not-so-smart" lamp that doesn't take a standard bulb.
