The s912 had overheating problems that delayed its release at least six months during development(honestly I became bored at this point). I questioned 3 different sellers using this chip about overheating once they began showing up in boxes. All of the questioned sellers of this chip denied any issue.
I decided to buy a box with this chip. I bought the one in the aluminum box that is displaced over half an inch above its surface. It’s box is a giant heat sink. The first time I used the box, after a few hours my tv starts flashing. The box is extremely hot. I get an ice brick from the freezer and it’s fine.
If a retailer says there is no overheating issues they either don’t know, or they are lying to you. The amlogic S905X is a safer purchase.
How can I make a WiFi bridge-extender on it? I need to get WiFi internet from one subnet (say from public WiFi) and distribute it to computers in my personal subnet.
