These are amazing...my daughter has used her 13.3" MacBook Pro for over 6 years and it still works with no problems! Its incredible to me that this is from Fall 2011 and $500 is the going rate for this hardware...it defies all other depreciation for electronics devices...way to go Apple!

Have this model and had to replace the logic board off warranty of course. Check how these machines are 'refurbished' and warranty needed for peace of mind.

For potential upgrades, this machine has SATA III (6Gbps) and supports up to 16GB (2x8GB) of 1333Mhz DDR3. You could potentially pull the SuperDrive (aka, DVD burner) and drop in a second 2.5" HDD/SSD if you desire.

You can't easily upgrade the wireless card (802.11n) or the display (1280x800). The latest macOS (10.12) Sierra is available as a free upgrade and compatible with this model. With a SSD and at least 8GB of RAM this is still a great performing machine for non-graphics oriented tasks.
