OSX is better than Windows in many ways, and also aggravating in many other ways. I'd say it's a wash. It falls down to what annoys you more. However, the total package of hardware and OS is amazing, and now Windows machine comes close. The M1 chips screams. I can simultaneously transcode several multi-gig videos while working. I will not see any lag, and I never hear the fan. The power management is also amazing. I can close the lid on Friday, and pick it up again on Monday, instantly resuming my work, with maybe 10% battery loss. Windows hibernation can preserve even more battery, and preserve your work process, but it can take 30 seconds or more to resume, depending upon your maximum RAM and memory utilization. Windows machines can't go all day without tethering. With this Mac, I can leave my power supply home and still be actively working all day without running out of juice.
