    straight talk and total wireless which is also $299 as
    walmart
    required 12 months of active service, then they will unlock for free. in the past apple did have multiple models for different carriers but current models like the 12, there is only one model for the entire US so there should be no problem with any carrier you bring it to after the 12 months

    You can also activate this with Tracfone if you so desire. Should also be able to have it unlocked after one year of service.
