Amazon has the latest model Apple iPad 32GB Wi-Fi 9.7" Tablet, 6th Generation 2018 model (Space Gray; MR7F2LL/A, Gold; MRJN2LL/A or Silver; MR7G2LL/A) for $249 with free shipping.

This is the Black Friday price at several stores this year (though not live yet!).

Gets the usual processor speed bump (A10 Fusion) plus adds support for the Apple Pencil, sold separately (previously compatible with the Pro series only).

Two things - per an earlier comment, what store is AAFES? Sorry to be dense.

I've used this, and it is a little better than my Air 2. And objectively it works great, and is SO MUCH MORE reasonable than the newly released Pros, which are insanely expensive. This device is only about 25% more than the storage upgrade from 256GB to 512GB on the new ones.

AAFES is military only, so it doesn’t apply to us mere mortals. Also if you were waiting on Costco for the extra bit of concierge warranty, you should go with this instead- Costco doesn’t offer the 2nd yr warranty on ipads

Not really, for this price ($249) you can either get the 9.7" with 32GB or the Mini with 128GB. Both are good deals, I guess.
