I've been working on this forum for over a week now waiting for 4K monitors and all these HD ones keep popping up. why are people still buying HD monitors?
^ In this case probably to keep your framerate higher in gaming without a large video card investment, though I'd consider a 1440p monitor and new video card if the budget is near $400.
Also, in practical terms, 4k is a bit overrated at the moment. It's hard to stream, requires lots of memory and storage space to edit, and as you can see, there's a shortage of reasonably-priced high-quality 4k monitors available. I just built a high-end PC system for a friend, and that's part of the system we've included a 32in 2K monitor which was on sale for a couple hundred bucks.
