I've never used this stuff and I never have a problem with my small 4-cycle lawn mower engines sitting over the winter.

That's why. Down in southern climates the humidity in tanks cause sweating and water accumulation somewhat diluting the fuel. More for southern climates than northern. Best fix is to use non ethanol
