Don't do it! If you just want to try it for the heck of it, go for it. But my bro brought a bunch home after fighting wildland fires and they are pretty nasty. Imagine a bag of spiceless chunky brown sludge (chili) and yes, the chunks are supposed to be meat and/or beans. You can't tell one from the other. Seriously. And the crackers? Broken and bordering on stale. The tootsie roll? Chewier than normal. The wanna-be pop tart? It's dry, admittedly sweet, but overall a crappy way to get 400 calories. The ration heaters are interesting and work slightly, but you can get so much better online for way less money.

Basically, I'd steer clear. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to vent about MREs

I have eaten MREs. These are similar. It's a shame what we give to our soldiers. Yes it will give them energy, but that's because it is mostly loaded with cheap sugar. Might as well give them m&m's and snickers which they will at least like. It would serve the same purpose.
