This would be a reasonable way to repair the typical (Malibu, etc) outdoor garden lights that have insulation displacement connectors which inevitably corrode and lose contact one by one.
That is, unless you're up to a more permanent fix which would mean soldering, heatshrink wrapping, and injecting a non-acid ("Sensor safe" automotive type) silicon sealant before shrinking the tubing. If you have multiple styles of heatshrink tubing with a glue lining then the silicone sealant may not be absolutely necessary but would still make it easier to achieve a waterproof seal.
Then again (lol) if you have the silicone sealant you can just put any standard plastic wire nut on and then pack the sealant in.
