Do yourself a favor, and don't get these "toy drywall repair" things. For barely more than one tube of this stuff, you can get an 18 pound bag of dry "joint compound" that you can just mix in a cup. It will last you a lifetime if you keep that bag dry, you can make as much or as little as you need, and it does a better job anyway.
I'd say the consumer is a renter looking to patch nail holes or small scrapes. So, storing an 18 lb bag of joint compound wouldn't be an ideal alternative.
