I don't know about these particular model, but I've never had any plastic cutting boards that don't look like those after some uses. If you really think the plastic shards are going into your food, then just stick with the wood.
I prefer plain, flat, no handles, sheet acrylic. It dulls knives faster but that's more than made up for in ease of cleaning, and this includes the cosmetics of not having food colors trapped in the slice marks.
