A lot of 1-star reviews of this TV says "The power light is on, but the TV itself does not turn on unless I unplug it and replug it in." Sounds kind of buggy to me. Maybe it uses Android TV?
DONT buy VIZIO TVs, worst in my experience. they will end up cutting the youtube and other apps later
SAMSUNG is the waty to go. best quality and sound - army2011
My brother's Samsung did the same thing... Used to have NetFlix on it, but a few years later, the NetFlix app just stopped working on it. Tried re-installing the app, upgrading firmware, etc but nothing fixed it.
I think these TV's just have really bare bones hardware inside that can handle today's versions of the apps, but as time marches forward, the apps get more bloated and demanding of memory, etc such that an old TV can no longer run 'em.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about that too much. Since most TV's have HDMI inputs nowadays, you could just later on get a Raspberry Pi or a PC and hook that up so that you'll have access to all the latest and greatest software.
