Whoa, requires 6 d batteries (not included)... so 12 for two blasters. Nerf makes a rechargeable pack. It's on
amazon
as B8996, $30 but is also BOGO 40% off during this sale. Reviews state it makes the gun lighter and shoot faster.

^ I own none, and that's also the # of D cells I've bought in the last decade.

The other option for these that I'd most likely do is pick up some 2 x AA to D cell adapters on
eBay
for about a buck a piece and put Tenergy Centura LSD AA cells in them (because I caught a deal on a 24 pack a while back), but recharging 12 AA is a lot more fiddly than the Nerf pack, would use 3 x 4 bay chargers so more likely what I would do is build a rapid charger circuit that could recharge them still in the blaster, something similar to what I have for a headamp that's based on an MC33340 charge controller, -or- try to figure out if the electronics inside the blaster could handle 3 x 18650 cells (12.6V) and use a different rapid charge IC.

What would really be cool is if Nerf got together with a cordless tool manufacturer and made one that takes cordless tool battery packs.
