Better than Bose ? Honestly, I was blown away by the sound quality of these. I wasnt able to compare them directly to Bose, but these things produce really nice sound. The bass is just right, mids and highs sound nice, too.
“They’ll brick your speaker”: total misrepresentation. Sonos has been supporting their original 15 year old hardware and adding tons of features to it. When I bought my first system streaming was not even available and all it did was play music from my home server. Since then they’ve added support for tons of services but they reached a breaking point where they can no longer support first gen hardware as part of a smooth running latest gen system. In order to facilitate people moving to the new gen product line, they offered a 30% discount on new equivalent products. In order to get the rebate you had to give them the serial number of each product and they would brick it instead of asking you to return it, which got a lot of people pissed off. Note that at no point were they going to forcefully brick your devices; they would just have stopped getting new updates and kept functioning the way they did. Following a very negative reaction to the wastefulness of bricking working products, they reversed the strategy. Sonos has been an exemplary company and supporting its products for way longer than any of their competitors. They don’t deserve lies being spread about them.
