These are handy if you're in a hurry but be sure to use a heat gun for best results, not a torch or lighter.

Don't use these for house wiring. The joint is stronger than a crimp bùtt connector, but not as strong as a regular solder joint.

These are only for light duty wire only.
Solder joint plus heat shrink tube is always the most reliable method.

NEC code requires mechanical fixation of wire before soldering, and it's the same thing I would do with these. Unlike in Clive's video, use one of the NASA recommended wire lashing techniques, which there are also youtube videos demonstrating.
