I receive an error "you cannot purchase because either your already a prime member or your using one click purchase.". I'm not using one click So seems to be false that it will allow you to purchase a GIFT MEMBERship

I'm confused. My current prime expires on march 7th. This is before the 3/25 "current Prime members date". So can I sneak in for one more year at teh current price? I doubt it but just wonder. I guess I can try and if not simply cancel as I find I use it less and less and delivery dates always seem to slip anyway.

Wife and I together placed about 66 orders in 2021. Based on the larger renewal price, that would be $2 per order. If I don't renew but keep ordering at the more or less same rate, there is NO WAY I would be paying only $140 a year to ship those 66 orders - probably at least twice that amount.
Unfortunately, that means that despite the fact I think Bezos is a greedy scum sucking worthless tiny member'd little maggot, I'm going to renew because at this point it benefits me.

I read from Mashable that "To apply a gift subscription, you will need to cancel your current membership and start anew, ... If your membership is set to renew after the price increases on March 25, you'll just want to make sure you check the box to get a reminder, or set a reminder through your own preferred methods, before it automatically renews with the higher rates. ..."
He should offer a basic Prime Membership without all the extra junk. I subscribed many years ago for only the fast free shipping benefits and that’s really all I want.
