10 Amazing Mario Propaganda Posters
Enough cannot be said about the ridiculously cool design work of Fernando Reza, a graphic artist from Los Angeles. Just taking a look at his site, you will notice a variety of posters and other illustrations on the subject of various movies, television shows, video games and everything else related to pop culture.
This particular set of Mario Propaganda illustrations highlights the patriotism being promoted to residents of the Mushroom Kingdom, mainly a call to action to fight the dangerous menace known as Mario. You will see Goombas, Bullet Bill, Boo and a variety of other Super Mario enemies portrayed as heroes as they continue to battle the evil mustachioed plumber.
King Koopa must have his hands full cranking the propaganda machine in order to keep the Mushroom Kingdom united against Mario. Reza’s work was also used within the popular First Person Goomba video that details the typical life span of a Goomba.
Check out the full set of Reza’s Mario Propaganda Posters below:

Strider was probably my favorite NES game, serious sci-fi action when side scrollers was where it was at. Later I found out that this was the worst version, but it seemed great to me at the time.

Dragon Warrior, I loved playing that game but my NES always reset (Had to Blow in the catridge or use alcohol-dipped cotton swaps)and it never saved. I played the beginning part I don’t know how many times. That’s dedication.

This one is a tough one. I would say the original Mario Bros. game, but… I think I’ll have to go with Gyromite because it involved the physical computer robot named R.O.B. as referenced here:

My favorite NES game was and is Baseball Stars. I loved this game because it was one of the few to feature a memory chip and you could spend all summer building the ultimate team just to have your brother unplug your console and erase the memory. As close runners-up I would have to mention River City Ransom, Tecmo Super Bowl, RC Pro Am and Mike Tyson’s Punchout.

I was a fan of many NES games. But as a gamer who was born at the perfect time to be part of the video game generation (Atari 2600 came out when I was 7), my peek was in the early years. Excitebike came out when I was 13, still very ripe for gaming. I played that game like it was never going out of style. It was my addictive drug of choice. It was simple, yet tons of fun. And, while I will never compare it to Super Mario Brothers, I beat that game a thousand times over in the arcade before getting my NES. Sure, I still liked the game, and it was largely a reason why I got the NES, but the specialness of something new was in a small arcade room in a Santa Monica California Shakey’s Pizza. Excitebike, on the other hand, was the one I met at Toys R Us and brought home to be shinny new NES console and never stopped playing, despite the fact I hot to blow my hot breath on it for the last couple of years.

My brother got the NES in about 1987 or 88 and he built up a huge collection of game cartridges over time. I would go over to his apartment and play and drink beer (we were in our 20’s)… Super Mario Bros. 3 was a favorite when it was released, it was the best thing when Mario could fly when he put on the raccoon suit!

my first favorite game was Mario like everyone else. it is just a timeless classic that everyone can enjoy. the story is simple and the world is not to complicated and no matter who you are you can pick it up and play it. Mario has evolved a lot and is now a recognizable icon for video games. Mario is neutral and everyone enjoys it.

Defiantly had to be super Mario i mean it was a big step up from the previous games and it introduced many new ideas that eventually got implemented in other Mario games. I mean it introduced the frog suit the super leaf, and not to mention the mother flipping tanooki suit! Something that most people dont know is that but in the game the koopalings came out, they are the sons and daughter of bowser before bowser jr got introduced….

I have tons of games that I’d like to think were my favorite, but in looking back I remember spending a ton of time playing a puzzle game called Solomon’s Key. It was challenging, but I kept at it which was a surprise for my age at the time. I don’t even think I ever beat it.
