Microsoft just announced today that not only will they be offering the new Windows 10 (set for a "summer" release), as a free update for current Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 users, they will also be giving it to users currently running pirated copies of their software.

This article suggests this is a way to re-engage with the Chinese market, where an estimated three-fourths of all installed software is pirated.

    Google is now offering Google Earth Pro for $0 downloaded. This used to be sold for $399 a year. Provides close up high definition 3D viewing, planning, mapping, and measuring as well as data on demographics and traffic.

    It may require a couple of tries to sign up. The link URL mentions that this is a trial version, but it is still unclear whether it is limited or not.

    The start of the 2015 Star Wars Celebration has already revealed a second teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.     Google just announced their new no-contract wireless service, Project Fi. The Basic plan is $20/month and includes unlimited domestic talk and text, unlimited international texts and Wi-Fi tethering. Each GB of data is an extra $10, and you'll actually get any unused data credited back at the end of the month.

    Project Fi automatically connects you to free, open Wi-Fi hotspots; when you're not on Wi-Fi, it moves you between its partner networks (currently Sprint and T-Mobile) for 4G LTE coverage.

    Right now, the only phone it works with is the Motorola Nexus 6, which you can order when signing up. You can request an invite and check coverage in your area.
