I ordered these from last month and just place the roll on the bar I'd normally run through the tube. It's a little more work than pulling it off the spool I guess but we honestly don't care and if I was a tree hugger I guess it's better for the environment.

This is not the same texture as your typical Scott's TP fyi! This is softer, the roll goes much faster and kind of annoying when you get to the end of the roll. Still a great deal, though.
