This is just going to raise prices as will only match the stated price, not the real "pickup special 1 hour window price" creating a false market. As s deals will now only be "special pickup" with no incentive for to compete. Already got burned on the tent deal. Price went up $28 during checkout. Another Lame attempt.
i bought a ping pong table top for billiards table. offered a 2.70 discount to pick it up in store. hmmmm... have a 70lb item delivered free or go pick it up in store for a 2.70 discount. i chose to have them ship it to my door.
I am using more and more. It's much easier to return items to if I want to, especially for large items. Then I am getting sick of Bezos' & Washington Post hit job on the POTUS. It's un-American.
Meanwhile, last time I did a store pick-up at my local , after checking in at their kiosk, their super duper "automated" system let me sit there for over half an hour, waiting for someone to show up, and have me sign for a box that was shipped FedEx to the store.
So my question is, if they can FedEx a box to the store for FREE, why can't they do the same to my house??

Have ya seen what 70 lb. items look like when shipped?? Good Luck with that. Shippers just slap a label on boxes that were designed to be palatalized.

It's cheaper to ship several items from a warehouse to a store, than delivering each item to each individual location.
