By the time the Steam OS comes out, this will be replaced. Build quality looks excellent, but it is mediocre when it comes to a gaming PC in power.

I dont get the Steam gaming machine concept. How can this compete against 2 proven consoles?

Also mediocre PC gaming rig = next gen console spec. Refreshes should come quicker than once every 5 or more years

Mouse and keyboard are 90s stuff kids.
Dont get me wrong mouse/keyboard is great for RTS games and MMORPGs but you need a controller to play anything else. There was a great experiment where COD Gamers with controllers were kicking the **** out of gamers with mouse/keyboards.
And why buy this to play ported console games?
    I really dont get it.
Get a XBONE and you will be happier. The games actually work on release day because they were designed for it and not ported.
PC gamers really need to do some research before spending thousands on their "gaming rigs" that play ported buggy console games.

    @garvin
your statement is cracking me up dude.
"mediocre PC gaming rig = next gen console spec"

This will blow that statement up.
    "Common Hardware Architecture > PC"
BF3 and BF4, Far Cry 3 and 4, All CODs since COD 3, LOTR Shadow Of Morrowind, Destiny, GTA IV and Titanfall are all prime examples of major PC failure.
GTA IV was voted the worst console to PC port in last decade on several gaming websites and where is GTA V for PC?
Plus I like my 55" LED Sammy which PC games look like **** on compared to XBONE 1080p 60fps.
Shrink a game down to a PC gamers 24" monitor and any game will look good. Even 360 games look better (Just Cause 2, GTA IV).
Just stating facts here and another perspective that is rarely heard.

    this is a interesting concept.
I think it's more like a versatile computer rather than a gaming console. And, in that point of view, this price is not all that bad
