Yes it is tiny, but it is a fully fledged computer. I have the version with 2 hdmi outs and ethernet and it's awesome as a HTPC and as a desktop.

Seems that something else does come with Thunderbolt beside a 2011 MacBook Pro.

You think it's possible to have a Thunderbolt hub? If so.. you could disconnect your drives/peripherals one at a time without breaking the daisy chain. I hope they come up with that if possible.
