The filters actually say they last for 16 gallons and are pretty expensive - look on
amazon
for the filters - 1 is 13, 12 is 104, but there is a subscribe & save discount.

Supposed to be a great filter though, I'm thinking about it.

I use my faucet mounted PUR filter to fill this up and get water so pure a cat couldn't scratch it!
