I tried it, and the receipt said "Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product." However, after registering, I got this: "You are using the Giveaway Version of WinX DVD Ripper Platinum." followed by "Time-limited Special Offer. Buy Full Version DVD video software today" which takes me to an offer to buy the full version. Seems a little bait-and-switchy.
"Paid upgrades and 7 days registration timeframe" meaning FREE for only 7 days?"
-I dont think so. I think they give you 7 days to register. The software should work from here on out.

-These statements are only informational, I thought. I dont think they mean anything negative.

-This is just a plug to get you to buy the full version. they have every right to try to sell you the upgrade, since they just gave you a free product. However, I dont think this means the free version is only limited for use in 7 days.
I've been using some of the software giveaways from BitsDuJour for a while. These are full version working products until you have to reinstall them again. The 7 days registration timeframe they're talking about means you have 7 days from the time you signed up to get the software to register it with the serial number they email to you. If you happen to install/reinstall the software and try to register it on the 8th day or any day thereafter it will be stuck in trial mode.
Another thing to be aware of is that I have seen most have 3 different price levels. 1st is the free giveaway with time limited registration and paid upgrades. 2nd is the no time limitation registration but still has paid upgrades and the 3rd is lifetime updates are free. All 3 levels are still full version applications.
