It's a $40 DVR. You're not going to find one cheaper than that. It's works fine for over-the-air...which many people have since cable is so outrageously priced despite nothing on it.
I ordered one and it'll be here tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how well it does (or doesn't) work. For $40 I'm not out much if it's a ****. Really just for the on-screen channel guide it might be worth the $40.
Basically worthless because it can't take a cablecard.
It is a TV Converter box for OTA signals. It is not intended to be used with service from your cable company. This device is for cord-cutters who want a DVR for the OTA channels. It has the added feature of being able to play media files from USB hard drives.
There's lots of solutions now for people with are looking for OTA dvr's. Some more expensive than others. Check out Tablo, the new Simple TV, Tivo and Channelmaster's new DVR+ if you have a bigger budget.

It is far from worthless.
Thank you!
