Drive to a Microsoft Store brick & mortar location for a 1:3 odds of winning? Yeah.. Why not.. Just let me get the ole snow chains on 1st, shovel the driveway and hope someone doesn't "slide/crash" into me on the way there or back.

Onedrive is also cheaper for monthly cost if you want more space. The integration with office suite is pretty good too. I used it for file sync for a while, and still store some docs on there, but it's mostly idle.

Nowadays, I think it's better to get a a 120GB Linux VM from xenpower.com. I got a special $6/month plan with them. I run bittorrent sync on it. Now I got cloud storage and a kickass server that's usable for all sorts of fun stuff.

Local MS store only ten minutes away.I have to go there to get my hijacked IE fixed. As I only use IE to update my computer, I can'tfigure how it got corrupted, and everything I've tried has been a dead end.

I think they had to change the name due to legal issues. MS did not properly vet out the name and it turned out that somebody somewhere already had it trademarked. Whomever owned the name probably wanted too much money to license the name, so it became cheaper to change the name.

Both Metro and Sky Drive were dropped because of trademark disputes with German and British companies, respectively. That, and Microsoft knows what European courts will do to them if they lose.

EXACTLY !!!!!

Can only imagine how long it "could" take doing a cloud 2 cloud transfer.
Now that external HD's are "once again" a bargain.....I'll stick with local storage.

Clouds are there to block the sun and help transport rain.

... especially now that 100GB of data can fit on a little USB flash drive at a price point that won't break the bank.
